Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ will celebrate its 50th anniversary commemorating the current church building at 135 Quarry Road. The Emmaus Rotary Club is hosting its fourth annual Topless Poker Run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alburtis Park to benefit local veterans. All proceeds from the event will be presented to Tails of Valor, a 501c3 organization, that raises and trains service dogs for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The poker run is open to all bikes, trikes and removable-top vehicles (hence the adjective, topless). After the run, there will be a luncheon, awards for best poker hand and the “coolest” bike/trike/other competition and several raffles.
