Garden club honored

A proclamation was issued to the Lower Macungie Township Garden Club for its 10-year anniversary at the Aug. 19 hybrid Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting.

The meeting could not be official as three commissioners were unable to attend so there was no quorum. No voting could occur nor any official business conducted.

An individual was chosen for the planning commission but could not be appointed due to lack of quorum.

President Ron Beitler announced a Christmas tree is being planted at the Brandywine Fire Station and will become the official Christmas tree for Lower Macungie Township. There will be a tree-lighting ceremony during the holidays.

The Sauerkraut Lane extension project is proceeding. Quarry Road will be closed in early September as part of this project.

Township Engineer Bryan McAdam said the sewer cleanup project is completed. The sewer relining project is underway.

Security releases for Stone Hill Meadows were mentioned for recreation fees and site improvements. No voting could occur due to lack of quorum.
