Ernest Sample, 88, of Lower Macungie Township, died Aug. 21, 2021. He was the loving husband of Marilyn (Wolfe) Sample for 69 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Louis and Fannie (Hari) Sample.
He was an insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Co. for 27 years, retiring March 8, 1993.
He loved dancing with his wife to Big Band Era music, playing golf, watching NFL football (particularly the Browns and Cowboys) with his daughter Laurie and visiting his daughter Debbie and her family.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Laurie and her husband, Steve Schrauger, of Whitehall and Debbie and her husband, Alan Curtis, of Daphne, Ala.; grandchildren, Whitney, Alden and Jarret Curtis. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen and a brother, Lewis.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Aug. 27 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th and Hamilton Streets, Allentown. A visitation will be held 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
