LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Salisbury Elementary School library open Aug. 4

Summer is still going strong and there are so many things to do, as things are gradually opening back up to some type of normal. I hope you and your family are enjoying summer.

Salisbury Township School District is hosting one more set of summer library hours before we are officially back in school. Stop by to see our friendly librarians and grab a few books to enjoy for the summer. Stop in at Salisbury Elementary School 9:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 4 and see what’s available.

St. Luke’s is offering free athletic physicals at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown 2-7 p.m. Aug. 10. Questions on this event date can be emailed to sportsphysicalsinquiry@sluhn.org. You can also refer to the district website for more information and to print the required forms.

Speaking of our student athletes, baseline ImPACT sessions will be completed by student-athletes in the comfort of their own home at this time. This must be completed by the first day of official practice.

So who needs a new Baseline ImPACT test? Any Salisbury Middle School/Salisbury High School student-athlete/team manager in sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grade, any SHS student-athlete/team manager who has not taken a new baseline test within the last two years – typically 11th graders, transfer students and those who have never participated in SHS athletics, any student-athlete/team manager who has sustained a concussion since their last baseline and did not take a new baseline already.

Student-athletes/team managers need a new baseline test yearly at the middle school level and every two years at the high school level.

If you are unsure if you need to take it or have any questions, contact Salisbury athletic trainers Julie Gregory and/or Julie Grisi at jgregory@salisburysd.org and jgrisi@salisburysd.org.

The township yard waste sites continue to be open alternating weekends for your drop off needs. Hours for drop off are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. The Franko Farm drop-off will be open Aug. 9, 12 and 14, while the Devonshire drop-off will be open Aug. 16, 19 and 21.
