Calling all retirees! On Aug. 3, Heidelberg Association for Retired Persons, better known as H.A.R.P., will get together 11 a.m. in Heidelberg Church’s Fellowship Hall for an amusing afternoon of bingo playing.

Bring a covered dish to share, along with two $1 wrapped bingo gifts.

For further information, call Katherine Blose at 610-336-0555 or Eleanor Klevenhagen at 610-841-9803.

Inside out! During the summer months, every Wednesday at Heidelberg Union Church, an outdoor worship service takes place 7 p.m. through Aug. 25.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided on the front porch followed by a worship service in the church’s parking lot.

All are welcome to come out and enjoy some food and family fellowship.

Remember to dress casually and bring a lawn chair.

Any questions, call the church office at 610-767-4740.

True spirit! According to Heidelberg Church Soup Kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, more than 50 meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless men, women, and children at Dubbs Church, Allentown.

“This was our first time back to help serve meals since the pandemic,” Hausamann said.

The meal included hamburgers, salad, potato chips, bottled water and desserts from The Bakery Nook, Coplay.

Special thanks to all of the wonderful Heidelberg Church volunteers who helped serve the meal.

To know more about helping at the soup kitchen, call Linda at 610-767-5281.

Inspiring idea! Before you throw away your old ink cartridges, think twice.

Heidelberg Union Church recycles ink cartridges to help with the cost of supplies for its office.

Each cartridge provides the church with a small credit.

If you have any old cartridges you want to get rid of, take them to any Staples store and tell them to credit Heidelberg Union Church.

Just a thought! One minute you are young and fun and the next you’re turning down the stereo in your car to see better.
