The Parkland School Board voted June 22 to move ahead with appraisal of properties at 3531 Broadway and 3599 Broadway in South Whitehall on the east side of the Cetronia Elementary School, at 3635 Broadway.

Director of Community Relations and Development Nicole McGalla reported the district is looking at options for the future.

“There are no plans to add on to the school right now, but it is land locked and does not have much parking space,” McGalla said.

Appraisal services for the two properties will be provided by Blair Bates, MBA, MAI.

In another matter, the board approved a $755,233 bid from Livengood Excavators to construct a new main entrance driveway at Parkway Manor Elementary School.

Board President David Hein explained the plan.

The plan will have a separate bus loop and a separate route for parents. The new layout will stack cars on the property, not on the street.

Presently, traffic backs up in both directions on Parkway Road at drop off and pickup times, Hein explained.

He said the concept is similar to the design at the Kratzer Elementary School.

Moving on to financial business, the board approved a 3-percent salary increase for administrators, confidential administrative assistants and central office administrators.

The list, of some 75 administrative personnel, includes not only the superintendent, assistant superintendent and director of business administration but also school principals, supervisors, directors, and coordinators of various districtwide departments, psychologists, network administrators, facilities supervisors, the garage foreman and more.

Salaries are effective for the 2021-22 fiscal year.
