Jane W. Gebey

Jane Wilson Geby, 74, of Lower Macungie Township, formerly of Worcester, Mass., died peacefully July 8, 2021, at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Charles L. Geby. They were married for 49 years. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Canavan) and Mel Wilson.

She was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Worcester, Mass., as well as a graduate of Anna Maria College, Paxton, Mass., where she was president of the student government association. She did graduate work at Boston College and Worcester State College.

Before moving to Allentown, she was a teacher at Notre Dame Academy in Worcester, Mass. and the director of public relations for Anna Maria College.

She taught sixth grade at St. Thomas More School, Allentown, for 20 years, retiring in 2001.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Church, Salisbury Township, where she served as a lector, CCD teacher and board member for many years.

She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1991 and valiantly battled the disabling effects of the disease for 30 years. She volunteered at the MS Society and treasured her friends who also fought the disease.

She is survived by her husband; children, Brian, of Newtown Square, Clare, of Bath and Maria and her husband, Raymond Bleil, of Macungie; grandchildren, Aidan, Margo Jane, Keira Jane, Kaley Marie, Grace and Margaret; brothers, James T. Wilson and his wife, Mary, of Osterville, Mass., Robert P. Wilson, of Bluffton, S.C. and Richard J. Wilson and his wife, Kate, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a sister, Elaine T. and her husband, Dr. Thomas V. Whalen, of Allentown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Poor Clare Monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 809 E. 19th St., Roswell, N.M. 88201.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. July 23 at St. Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, 18103 with a visitation 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
