This talk goes beyond the normal fruits and vegetables and discusses other edibles in the landscape like parts of ferns, flowers and shrubs that you may not have thought about adding to your table fare in the past. The 1803 House will be open for tours in participation with “Lehigh Valley Passport to History Weekend,” noon to 4 p.m. Also Aug. 15. The 1803 House will feature candle making, a scavenger hunt, house tours and root beer floats in an 1803 House commemorative mug. Volunteers will share their new herb garden along with colonial usage and remedies of each herb.
