After several hours, South Whitehall Township police reached a peaceful resolution June 14 with an armed male suffering from a mental health crisis at a home on Parkland Drive.

According to Police Chief Glen Dorney, due to the suspected weapon involved, the Lehigh County Emergency Response Team, along with crisis negotiators responded to the scene.

The individual was taken to the hospital to receive the help he needed and no one was injured.

There is no threat to the safety of anyone in the neighborhood, Dorney said.
