Bernadine M. Dorney

Bernadine M. Dorney, of Emmaus, died June 9, 2021, in St. Luke’s Hospice House. She was the wife of William K. Dorney. They would have celebrated 72 years of marriage in August. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kern) Reilly.

She was a graduate of Allentown Central Catholic High School.

She worked for a number of years in the family business, Dorney Printing and Day-Timer®.

She was well known at all of the card shops. When she walked into the shop, she was usually asked, “Can I take your coat, Mrs. Dorney?” She enjoyed eating and was never late for dessert. She enjoyed doing puzzles, especially crossword puzzles but mostly enjoyed time spent with family and friends and being a Nana.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Dennis W., of Breinigsville; a daughter, Janice L. Siman (Scoop), of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Dennis W. II, of Quakertown, Jennifer Creager (John), of Maryland, Nicholas K. Siman, of Chicago, Ill., Daniel B. Siman, of Chicago, Ill., Caria Hoffman, of Macungie and Diedre Schrader (Steve), of Virginia; great-grandchildren, Andrew Creager, of South Carolina, Julia Creager, of California, Jordan Fugazzato, of Pennsylvania, Blake Slusaw, of Pennsylvania, Nathaniel Schrader, of Virginia and Jason Schrader, of Virginia; a great-great-grandson, Murdock Slusaw; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Reilly (Betty, still living); a sister, Mary Ann Ferreria (Andrew) and brother, Thomas Reilly (Rosemarie).

Contributions may be made in her memory to Children’s Hospital for Cancer, Philadelphia or a charity of one’s choice.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
