Two Democrats and one Republican are seeking a seat on the Lehigh County Commissioners’ board representing District 4, which includes Allentown Wards 2 through 11, 13 (District 1 and 2), 17, 18.

The Press asked the candidates the following question:

“Moving forward, is Lehigh County prepared to handle another pandemic or major crisis?”

For a pandemic, we need to establish a county health bureau, so we have sufficient public health resources in our community.

This will ensure when another pandemic hits - and it will happen - we have the capability to do more testing and provide more vaccinations.

Lehigh County is certainly prepared for other major crises.

We manage emergency response throughout Lehigh County every day in our 911 Center and in support of local emergency responders.

These heroes make it possible to be very confident in our safety and it is why I’m honored to have the support of Allentown Firefighters Local 302.
