ALLENTOWN AREA ECUMENICAL FOOD BANK is looking for volunteers to assist as needed in the food bank 9 a.m. to noon any weekday. Bilingual Spanish speaking volunteers also needed. Masks and other COVID-19 protocols are followed. Contact Anne Egan at 610-433-6373 or anne.egan@allentownfoodbank.org.

INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK LEHIGH VALLEY provides 24/7 door through door ride service for seniors aged 60 and over and visually impaired adults to any destination in the Lehigh Valley. They need volunteer drivers to help with the increasing demand for rides. All rides in Lehigh Valley only. Drive when and where you want. No minimum hours required. LEHIGH VALLEY ZOO, Schnecksville, is open seven days a week 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (November through March) and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (April through October). They offer long- and short-term volunteer opportunities for those (minimum age 13) interested in wildlife conservation. Masks and other COVID-19 protocols will be followed. MARVINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, Bethlehem, is a community school committed to connecting families and community resources with each other. They would like for someone to help with creating a user-friendly website with specific resources using a free domain that will be then accessible to families through a link on the Bethlehem School District website. All links for the resources as well as descriptions will be provided. This opportunity will be completely virtual and will be ongoing until the project is completed. NATIONAL MUSEUM OF INDUSTRIAL HISTORY, Bethlehem, is seeking gallery guides who will engage with visitors to provide a welcome/orientation, answer questions and oversee the visitor experience in their indoor and outdoor exhibit spaces. Also, as a docent, volunteers will have the chance to deepen their knowledge of the rich industrial heritage and share it with visitors by leading guided tours of the indoor and outdoor exhibit spaces. NEW BETHANY MINISTRIES, Bethlehem, is looking for volunteers to make POPPIES OF REMEMBRANCE/LANTERNS OF HOPE kits for a new community fundraiser in partnership with Musikfest. Meet at the visitor center at SteelStacks, Ruins Parking Lot 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7, 8, 21, 22 or 2 to 5 p.m. June 7 or 8. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of sand unassisted to fill bags and place candles. Kit making will be held outdoors under a tent, rain or shine. PROJECT OF EASTON needs pantry assistants 9 a.m. to noon Monday and Thursday to help pack bags of food for distribution, stock shelves, carry items from trucks to pantry, weigh and put away donations and participate in food distribution. TEACH RWANDA provides teacher education and operates a world-class school for pre-primary and primary-age children in Rwanda. The fundraising committee is eager to recruit and expand into virtual fundraising and more. Plan for about 4 to 8 hours a month, including meetings and outreach.
