UPPER MACUNGIE TWP Upper Macungie offering program for dogs, owners

Upper Macungie Township has partnered with Mannered Mutts to provide canine owners with the training and tools to navigate dog parks with their dog park etiquette class 2-3 p.m. April 24 at Upper Macungie Park Dog Park, 1625 N. Route 100, Fogelsville.

The class is limited to 25 dogs. Each dog will receive a Good Citizen Test.

Dogs must have proof of proper immunization and health records before class day.

The township will host psychic medium Lauri Moore 7-8:30 p.m. April 29 at Lone Lane Park, 30 Lone Lane.

USPTR Certified Tennis professional Brian Bleam will offer tennis classes for children and adults Mondays April 26 to May 24 at Ricky Park, 5875 Ricky Ridge Trail, Orefield.

Junior level 1 classes for kids ages 7-10 will be 4:30-5:30 p.m., junior level 2 classes for kids ages 11-15 will take place 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the adult class will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

The movie “The Croods a New Age” will be shown drive-in style May 7 at Grange Park, 360 Grange Road, Upper Macungie.

Activities begin at 7 p.m. with the movie starting at dusk.

A food truck will be available.

Christina Ryan/Lil Athletics and the township will host a Multi-Sport Skills class for boys and girls ages 2-6 every Wednesday May 5-26 at Grange Park near pavilion No. 4, 360 Grange Road.

Classes, limited to seven children, will be 45 minutes long.

Parents must remain at all classes.

There is a fee to attend all these programs except the movie.

Parkland Community Library, South Whitehall, is hosting a Virtual Story Time with Miss Mary 10-10:30 a.m. on April 28 and May 5 on Zoom.

Miss Mary will read a story and there will be singing.

This story time is perfect for all ages but is geared toward kids ages 5 and younger.

Kids in grades three through five join library staff for their Among Us for Kids game event 6:30 p.m. April 28 via Zoom.

Participants will be playing in a group of four to 10 players to complete tasks to find and defeat the impostor before time runs out.

A virtual Teen Dungeon and Dragons Night Zoom meeting will be offered 6-8 p.m. May 3 through the website R20 for students in seventh through 12th grade.

The Teen Virtual Anime Club for kids in grades six through 12 will meet 6:30-7:30 p.m. May 5 via Zoom to watch a selected anime episode through Crunchyroll or Funimation.

The library will offer a Star Wars Trivia Night for adults 7-8 p.m. on April 27.

Join yoga instructor Deanna Nagle for her gentle yoga weekly series for adults 10:30-11:30 a.m. April 29 via Zoom.

She will guide participants through a range of motions to improve energy and focus, decrease pain in the body, and calm the central nervous system.

Adults join library staff for its Dive into Databases video series beginning 10:30 a.m. May 4 on Facebook.

They will provide tips and simple instructions to unlocking database features.

This month’s feature is HeritageQuest.

Registration is needed to attend Among Us for Kids, Dungeon and Dragon Night, Anime Club, Trivia Night and Gentle Yoga.

Ziegels Union Church Fellowship Committee is sponsoring a community yard sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 1 at the church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville.

Donations for baked goods, snacks and drinks are needed.

Participants can reserve a 20-foot by 20-foot space for a small fee for nonchurch members.

All participants must provide their own tables. Vendors are welcome to participate.

The church will have a Blessing of the Bikes by the Rev. Dr. Larry Pickens 9 a.m. May 1 in the Ziegels pavilion.

This event is open to the community and is in preparation for this year’s bicycle season.

After the blessing service, the cycling group Lehigh Wheelman Association will kick off a sponsored ride leaving from the church parking lot around 9:30 a.m.
