Willowbrook Road to be dedicated back to the state

Hanover Township Manager Melissa Wehr confirmed Willowbrook Road will be dedicated back to the state during the month of April.

The news was shared at the April 7 meeting of Hanover Township Council.

The Willowbrook plan was for care of the road to be reverted back to the state once the widening project is completed. The township agreed to give the road back because of the maintenance costs.

Wehr also confirmed tax deadlines were extended to May 15.

Preliminary work has started for the warehouse project in the township, known as Lot 5. Creating erosion drain fields will be done first. Excavation work will start as soon as the legal agreements are completed.

Councilman Rick Tocci asked about the status of the private drive near BJ’s Wholesale Club, 1785 Airport Road. The drive is used for a fuel station and other business.

Tocci asked about the traffic and reportedly difficult parking conditions for the people who use the drive. Chairman Bruce Paulus reported the township asked the businesses in the area to provide a public way, but they agreed to allow each business private parking.

Council made some adjustments to the building code that confirmed with the state.

Wehr noted a project providing a storage shed for a welding company was abandoned. The township was concerned the contents planned to be stored there would be dangerous.

Council agreed to adopt the fee resolution for year 2021.
