Al-Bajali named Student of the Month

Allentown West Rotary Club recently recognized Sarah Al-Bajali, a senior at Whitehall High School and Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, as Student of the Month for March.

LCTI faculty members told Rotary members that Al-Bajali’s specialty is carpentry and cabinet making. She is very passionate about her craft and is thrilled about a new co-op position. Al-Bajali is a standout academic student, inquisitive and consistently makes active contributions to discussions. In these very challenging times, Al-Bajali takes a consistently positive attitude and provides a ray of light for classmates and teachers, helping lift the collective spirit. She demonstrates resilience by easily pivoting between classroom and hybrid learning.

Al-Bajali is deeply committed to her church and to serving God.

Her future plans are to continue working in the cabinetmaking trade, so she can give more time to church activities. This prompted Amir Famili, past-president of Allentown West Rotary, to offer Al-Bajali the opportunity to join the club’s activities with Habitat for Humanity, where her skills could be put to immediate use.

Dr. Mark Covelle, academic principal at LCTI, and Bajali’s parents, Emad Al-Bajali and Susan Said, residents of Whitehall, were present on the Zoom meeting when she was presented with her certificate and Amazon gift card.

Allentown West Rotary Club is privileged to honor Al-Bajali as Student of the Month and commends her for being a shining light in the world, for her academic achievement, her fine technical skills and her devotion to God.
