April 17

Emmaus and Upper Milford Township Joint Environmental Advisory Council will host a community cleanup for Earth Day 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (rain or shine) at Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road at South 14th Street. Community members are invited to participate in this fun, earth-conscious event. The event will include cleaning up litter and debris from sites around the borough and township and around the park pool and the library buffer areas. Earth Day is a great time to help out by cleaning up litter and debris and provide community education about the importance of protecting local water resources. If you need gloves, safety vests or bags, let the organizers know by emailing info@uppermilford.net or call 610-966-3223.

The Emmaus Public Library, 11 E. Main St., will host its annual Tee Time at the Library mini golf fundraiser 6 to 9 p.m. - adults only. The event features an 18-hole course inside the library with decorations by East Penn School District students. The event is adults-only (ages 21 and older) and features complimentary food and an adult beverage (served outdoors). Putters and balls will be provided. Masks will be required and social distancing protocols will be followed. Tickets are available at the library or via PayPal at www.emmauspl.org/tee-time. Pick up for the Emmaus Lions Club annual Dutch Chowder sale 7 to 11 a.m. at Emmaus Community Park. Containers will be available. For more information, contact any Lions member or call 610-965-7355.

Lower Milford Township will welcome volunteers to help clean up 8 a.m. to noon. The township will provide gloves, safety vests, garbage bags and bottled water. A free picnic lunch will be offered at the township building, 7606 Chestnut Hill Church Road, Lower Milford Township, after the cleanup. Volunteers can register by contacting the township secretary at 610-967-4949, ext. 111.

Craft Bazaar, Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Features include crafts, attic treasures, gift basket auction, baked goods, perennial plants and food.

The Weisenberg-Lowhill Township Historical Society’s basket social will return offering over 170 themed baskets including dozens of local gift cards in the society’s historical hotel, 4585 Werleys Corner Road, New Tripoli. To comply with COVID-19 guidelines, including masks, social distancing and allowable indoor capacities, 39 shopping hours spread across seven days will ensure a safe shopping experience. Only available at the door, an admission ticket includes 26 prize chances; extra chance sheets will be available.
