Lois M. Roberts

Lois M. Roberts, 96, of Allentown, died Feb. 6, 2021, in St. Luke’s Hospice House.

She was the wife of the late Rev. Dr. C. Alton Roberts who died in 2005 and Kenneth Metzger who died in 1971.

Born in Naperville, Ill., she worked in accounting throughout her career, last working for a car dealership in New Jersey in the early 1970s.

She was an active member of the Lutheran church, both in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, working alongside her husband, and taking leadership roles as president in the Northeast Pa. Synod with LCE/WELCA (Lutheran Church Women) of the ELCA, traveling the country to speak on behalf of women’s issues.

She also served on the board of the J.L. Schneller School in Lebanon.

An active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, Emmaus, she sang with the adult choir, chaired the altar care team, was a founding member of the women’s group, M&M’s, supporter of the Rejoicing Spirits ministry and tour guide alongside her husband on trips to Europe, Norway and the Holy Land.

She enjoyed entertaining, traveling, going out to eat, Pine’s Dinner Theater and gathering with friends.

She could tell stories - in great detail “like nobody’s business.”

Her friendship and presence will be missed by all who knew her.

Her survivors include a brother-in-law Stanley C. and his wife, Jan.

She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth.

Contributions in her memory may be made to The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, PA 18049.
