John D. Reiss, 60, of Emmaus, died March 26, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Tammy (Mohr) Reiss for 34 years. Born in Emmaus, he was the son of Leanna H. (Bittenbender) Reiss and the late Bruce C. Reiss.

He worked for the Borough of Emmaus in the public works department for 41 years.

He was a firefighter for Emmaus Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.

He enjoyed camping and sitting around the campfire and loved spending time with his family, but especially loved his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife; mother, of Emmaus; a son, Kyle and his wife, Nicole, of Emmaus; a daughter, Katie, and her husband, John March, of Macungie; grandchildren, Shiann, Caleb, Samantha and Abigail; brothers, Douglas and his wife, Lori, of Alburtis, Jeffrey, of Emmaus, Richard and his wife, Susan, of Emmaus; nieces and nephews.

Contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 18049 or to the Emmaus Fire Department, 100 N. Sixth St., Emmaus, 18049.
