Jonathan Epstein named chairman of Great Allentown Fair Foundation

The Great Allentown Fair Foundation has announced Jonathan Epstein was named chairman and James N. Seip will serve as vice chairman.

Willard Snyder will continue as treasurer and Barbara Bigelow will continue as secretary.

“While 2020 was a unique year to be sure, our primary focus was to be able to provide scholarships to local students pursuing the study of agriculture,” Epstein said. “I’m proud to report that, through generous support of our mission, we gave a total of $5,000 in scholarship money to four incredible students.

“In this year, and in the years ahead, we will continue to provide scholarships and have also started looking at funding select capital projects as well.

“We couldn’t do this without the support from the Lehigh County Agricultural Society and from the public.”

Agriculture has long been, and continues to be, a major driver of Pennsylvania’s economy - and its largest industry - providing more than $84 billion in direct economic output and supporting over 280,000 jobs.

The field of agriculture is diverse and has opportunities everywhere: from growing crops to rearing animals; from organics, sustainability, and farm-to-table to canning, wine making and wool production.

The Great Allentown Fair Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization chartered in 2019, as a separate subsidiary of the Lehigh County Agricultural Society.

The mission of The Great Allentown Fair Foundation is to provide philanthropic opportunities through grants and charitable donations to preserve, enrich, and advance agriculture.
