Lawrence A. Greene Jr., 87, of Zionsville, died Feb. 22, 2021, at Heather Glen Senior Living facility, Allentown. He was the husband of Barbara (Empie) Greene. Born in Lynchburg, Va., he was the son of the late Lawrence A. Greene Sr. and Mary Spencer Greene.
He graduated from The Peddie School, Hightstown, N.J., in 1951 and Syracuse University School of Architecture, Syracuse, N.Y., in 1957.
He served as an officer in the U.S. Army Signal Corps at Fort Lee, Va., for two years after graduation.
He moved to Zionsville in 1960 where he worked as a registered architect at several firms but spent the majority of his professional life as president and managing partner at Muhlenberg Greene Architects, Ltd., Reading. He retired in 2013.
He was active in many church and civic activities, including numerous years of service on the boards of Muhlenberg College, Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority and the Visiting Nurses Association of Berks County. He was a former president of the Rotary Club of Reading (1970-71) and the Eastern Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (1972).
He is survived by his wife; sisters, Mary Kip Douglas and Phyllis Parker; children, Lawrence D., Jeffrey P., both of Zionsville and Karin Green White, of Teaneck,N.J.; two granddaughters.

A private interment will be held at Old Zionsville Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery for members of the immediate family only. A memorial service will be held later in the year. Arrangements were made by the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville.
