Why is our nation so far apart?

When did this take place?

How did hatred become fore front,

And spread all over our space?

Where did all of this come from?

We’re supposed to care for each other!

Instead we are angry and hateful,

And love is suddenly smothered

Smothered by all of the name calling,

And, horrible verbal abuse.

When all of our words could easily be

put to a much better use!

There are millions of people in the world,

Each one has a mind of their own;

If someone doesn’t think like you do,

Simply leave them alone!

There is no need to chastise someone,

because they think different from you.

Let them alone, and go on your way,

and let them express their views!

You have that very same freedom,

to say anything that you choose!

We’re all on this journey together,

though we may take different roads.

There’s no harm in going different directions,

as long as you don’t step on ones toes.

Let’s all enjoy our freedoms, and all of the space that we share.

Learn to be kind to each other, and, perhaps,

We can all learn to care!
