Patricia J. Leayman

Patricia Jean Leayman, 90, died Jan. 16, 2021. She was the wife of the late Robert Bain Leayman. They were married for 52 years. They lived in Emmaus where they raised their children. Born in Bingen, she was the daughter of the late Richard Joseph Heidecker and Etrulia (Rowe) Heidecker Snyder. She was formerly from Emmaus and recently resided at The Willows in Macungie.

As a young lady she worked at Chic Bag in Bethlehem; was mostly a stay-at-home mom but did waitress at local cafés in Emmaus. When her children were older she worked at Rodale Press and Brookside Country Club.

Most called her “Nana” or “Bubba” and her passion was to win BIG...whether scratch tickets, machines or her favorite sport “Bingo.”

She loved to make the famous washcloth and gave them to everyone she saw. She taught many to jitterbug, bake cookies and her famous mashed potatoes. Her personality excelled when she resided at The Willows sharing happiness, laughter and joy with her fellow residents and staff.

She is survived by a daughter Brenda (Steve), of Elsinboro, N.J. and son Randy (Davida), of Emmaus; grandchildren: Damein Hinnerschietz (John), of Emmaus, Joshua Harned, of Bend, Ore., Alexis Goodwin (Dustin), of Greensboro, N.C., Emily, of Alexandria, Va., Ian, of Emmaus; great-grandchildren, Landon and Harlow Hinnerschietz, of Emmaus; sisters, Dorothy Burke and Lucille Bennick, both of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by brothers John, Richard and James Heidecker and a sister, Shirley “Cook” Beck; many nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Homes, Emmaus.
