The surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations expected to follow the holidays is now occurring. Coplay Public Library will continue to offer curbside service for borrowing materials for now.

The library is open by appointment for computer use, faxing and copying. Call, email or contact us on Facebook or the website during normal business hours 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays to make an appointment.

If you require immediate assistance and don’t have time to make an appointment, call before or when you get here or knock on the door. We will try to accommodate you.

For the safety of patrons and staff, computer time is limited to one hour per day.

***

To borrow materials, place holds directly using our online catalog. For assistance, further information or to request materials, call us at 610-262-7351, email us at coplaypubliclibrary@gmail.com or see our website, coplaypubliclibrary.org.

Our doors are locked, so call or knock loudly when you arrive. We will be installing a doorbell.

***

Masks are required and must be worn correctly while you are in the building. If you forget your mask, we have nonmedical, washable masks for sale.

All incoming materials are quarantined for seven days. The Lehigh-Carbon Library Cooperative is requiring all member libraries to follow this procedure, which is based on information about the coronavirus on different library materials. Please be patient if you are waiting for a hold.

Although we have taken down our holiday giving tree, Whitehall- Coplay Hunger Initiative welcomes donations throughout the year.

We have a box inside the library to place your contributions. For a list of items the organization needs and other information, visit whitehallcoplayhungerinitiative.org or call 484-225-0358.

***

We have free books for all ages on a cart outside the library’s main doors. Keep the books or share with friends after reading. Do not return them to the library.

***

Did you try a new recipe or make a family favorite recently? Share it with others through our new recipe swap, Comfort & Tradition, on the Facebook page.

All recipes are welcome. Soups and stews would be great choices for the cold weather.

Read your favorite magazine, try a new one or borrow books without leaving your house - just use the Libby app or the Overdrive website on your own devices.

Go to the library’s website and use your library card number and password to access Overdrive in the E-Resources tab or download Libby to your device.

If you need help with your password, please call the library at 610-262-7351.

Shortly, the Zinio/ RB Digital items will be showing up on Overdrive and Libby. Stay tuned for more information.

Winter is here, and our primary concern is the safety of our patrons and staff. There will be times when it will be necessary to close the library. Follow us on the WFMZ Stormcenter and our website or Facebook page for any closings. We will not offer curbside services on days we are closed.
