Abigail Joy Monks

Abigail Joy Monks, 23, died Dec. 29, 2020, in her sleep.

Born on May 2, 1997, she was the precious daughter of William and Bonnie Monks of New Tripoli.

She was soon to be the fiancée of Jacob Barrows, who loved and adored her.

Her beauty lit up the room. She lived out her middle name, Joy, with an infectious giggle that is unforgettable.

She graduated from The Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School in 2015 and attended Northampton Community College receiving an Associate degree in graphic arts.

Her love of sports was evident from her youth. She played soccer and softball, but her passion was volleyball.

She was a member of the 2015 NCC volleyball team that placed seventh in the nation.

She blessed many athletes as head coach of Push The Rock Volleyball Team.

She loved God’s creations from ladybugs to cats, dogs and horses. One of her favorite jobs was pet sitting.

Her passion for her Lord and Savior was evident to all.

Her love for Jacob, the beach, the sun, and photography drew her to San Diego where she was living her California dream!

She shined brightly for Jesus as part of the worship teams at Kingdom Life Family Center and Church Tsidkenu in San Diego where she ministered to the downtown homeless community.

She will be forever missed by her brother, Zechariah; sister-in-law Lizzy; grandparents Shirley Horning, Angie and Nick Felegy, and Ken Monks; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Feb. 20 with a Celebration of Life service to follow at Kingdom Life Family Center, 4333 Lime Kiln Road, Orefield.
