PPL awards PBS39 another $50K grant

PBS39, a service of Lehigh Valley Public Media™, will make an impact on hundreds of students again this year, with the help of a grant from PPL Electric Utilities.

“We are incredibly honored to once again receive this generous grant from PPL Electric Utilities, especially considering the rocky year it has been for all nonprofit institutions,” Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media, said. “This grant will allow us to continue to educate the future of our community through a variety of initiatives.”

The $50,000 PPL grant will be used to fund many of PBS39’s educational programs and services, including Raising Readers, Crazy 8s Math, the Full STEAM Ahead! early childhood education initiative and other programs approved by the guidelines set forth in Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.

“At PPL, we believe that building a strong foundation is critical to the success of today’s students,” said Lissette Santana, Senior Manager of Corporate Responsibility for PPL. “We’re fortunate to be able to participate in the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Education Improvement Tax Credit program, which gives companies an opportunity to support equitable and engaging high-quality programs to improve educational outcomes for children.”
