The Lehigh Valley Beekeepers are offering the 10th annual comprehensive “Introduction to Beekeeping” course virtually via Zoom this year.

Classes will be held eight consecutive Wednesdays 7-8:30 p.m. Feb. 3 to March 24 culminating in a trip to the club’s apiary in late March to experience working with live colonies.

Weekly topics will include Honey Bee Biology, Hives and Hardware, Setting up the Hive, A year in the Life of a Beekeeper, The Legalities of Beekeeping, Pests and Diseases, and the Joy of Honey and other Hive Products.

The instructors, beekeepers and members of the LVBA, will share their experiences and give students all the basics for keeping bees alive and healthy.

The course fee includes emailed course materials and login information.

Celebrating 100 years, the mission of the association is to assist beekeepers, honeybees and nature.
