School board thanks CASD administration, staff for hard work

At the Dec. 1, 2020, Catasauqua Area School District Board of Education regular meeting, Thomas Moll, director of student activities, had a few words to say on the sports season. He was thankful to the staff and students who followed the COVID-19 procedures and protocols, allowing them to finish the fall sports season.

As of the meeting, plans were still in the works involving the logistics of the winter sports season.

Moll thanked the three Lehigh Valley Health Network trainers who assisted during the sports season to make sure the students were safe and healthy.

Catasauqua High School Principal Adam Schnug, Catasauqua Middle School Principal Melissa Inselmann and Sheckler Elementary School Principal Eric Dauberman gave the board reports on what events are coming up at the schools.

The board members thanked the district administration and staff for the hard work in getting through this difficult year so far. Many noted they had expected another shutdown, but through the efforts of the staff members, they were able to push through.

“I couldn’t be more proud to work with you and the district,” CASD Superintendent Robert Spengler told the board members.

He noted it took hard work, organization and leadership to maintain the education levels and experiences for the students in the district.

The school board next meets 7 p.m. Jan. 12.
