LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Coplay Public Library: Board of directors, staff wish you a happy, safe new year

Happy New Year from the board of directors and staff of Coplay Public Library.

Stay safe this winter by continuing to follow public health guidelines.

***

Due to the substantial spread of COVID-19, we have returned to curbside service for borrowing materials.

We are open by appointment for computer use, faxing and copying. Call, email or contact us via Facebook during our normal hours.

Current business hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

If using Facebook to book your appointment, look for the Book Appointment button at the top right of our page. There is also a link to book appointments on our website. For the safety of patrons and staff, computer time is limited to one hour per day.

If you require immediate assistance with any service and don’t have time to make an appointment, call before or when you get here or knock on the door. We will try our best to accommodate your needs.

Masks are required and must be worn correctly while you are in the building. If you forget your mask, we have colorful, nonmedical, washable masks for sale in both children’s and adults’ sizes.

To borrow materials, place holds directly on your account using our online catalog.

For assistance, further information or to request materials, call us at 610-262-7351, email us at coplaypubliclibrary@gmail.com or see our website, coplaypubliclibrary.org.

Our doors are locked, so call or knock loudly on the door when you arrive. We will be installing a doorbell as soon as possible.

All incoming materials are quarantined for seven days. The Lehigh-Carbon Library Cooperative is requiring all member libraries to follow this procedure, based on information about the coronavirus on different library materials.

Please be patient if you are waiting for a hold.

***

The library is still accepting new or washed, gently used adult and children’s gloves, mittens, scarves, hats and socks for the holiday giving tree. Other items needed include jackets and coats.

Please bring your gift in a bag. The items will be distributed through Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative.

We will be collecting items until Jan. 16.

***

The library has a cart with free books for all ages just outside the main doors.

When finished, share your selections with family or friends. Do not return these items to the library.

***

Join Miss Janice for storytime streamed on Facebook Live 11 a.m. each Thursday in January. She will be sharing stories and crafts!

Don’t worry if you miss a session. Video links are available to access whenever it is convenient.

***

Did you try a new recipe for the holidays or make a tried-and-true family favorite? Share it with others through our new recipe swap - Comfort & Tradition - on our Facebook page.

All types of recipes are welcome. Soups and stews would be great choices for the cold weather ahead.

You can read your favorite magazine, try a new one or borrow books without leaving your house - just use the Libby app or the Overdrive website on your own devices. Go to the library’s website and use your library card number and password to access Overdrive in the E-Resources tab or download the Libby app to your device. More than 14,000 e-books and e-audios are available.

If you need help with your password, call the library at 610-262-7351.

Winter has officially arrived! Our primary concern is the safety of our patrons and staff.

While we make every effort to remain open, there will be times when it will be necessary to close the library. Follow us on the WFMZ Stormcenter and our website and Facebook page for any closings.

We will not offer curbside services on days we are closed.
