Frank R. Modrick III

Frank R. Modrick III, 69, of Wescosville, died Dec. 11, 2020, in his home after a hard-fought battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and wonderful caregivers. He was the husband of Aileen C. (Wambold) Modrick for 45 years. Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Frank M. Modrick Jr. and Theresa (Hutta) Modrick.

He graduated from Parkland High School, Class of 1969. He stayed connected to his high school community through the Parkland Trojan Alumni Varsity Club, for which he served as a past board member. In his yearbook, he was described to a T: “This guy is truly the ‘class clown’ ... everyone knows Frank ... how smart can one person be?” That description rang true throughout his life. In fact, his dynamic personality once landed him the role of “bad cop” on an episode of TLC’s “Forensic Files.”

An avid Red Sox, Phillies and Eagles fan, he was a wealth of (often useless) sports knowledge. He watched any and all types of sports with his friends at the Mercantile Club in Emmaus.

He worked at Ehrlich Pest Control for over 46 years, advancing from technician to the district manager of the Allentown and Stroudsburg offices, retiring in 2018.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling, especially by cruise, to tropical and adventurous locales.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sarah, Esq., a brother, Stephen (Barbara), several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Frank IV and two infant sons.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the Glioblastoma Foundation.

Frank loved a great party, and in that spirit, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements were made by the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc, Allentown.
