North Whitehall man charged with making terroristic threats

According to State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, a 64-year-old North Whitehall Township man, of the 3300 block of Fairland Drive, is being charged with making terroristic threats after he allegedly assaulted his wife and threatened her with a gun at 2:08 a.m. Dec. 11.

Police say before troopers arrived at the Fairland Drive address for a report of a domestic incident, the wife was able to flee and go to a neighbor’s home.

The Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team was activated and established a perimeter outside the residence where the man was inside.

The man came out at 6:37 p.m. and was taken into custody without further incident.

In addition to being charged with one count of making terroristic threats, he is also being charged with one count each of simple assault and harassment, police say.

There were no injuries to the man or troopers.
