Raymond F.L. “Sonny” Adams III, 86, of Whitehall, died Dec. 8, 2020. He was the husband of Anita L. (Roeder) for 65 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Norma (Jones) and Raymond Adams II.

He was a 1952 graduate of Allentown High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and earned the rank of staff sergeant.

He was employed at Western Electric for 30 years.

He was a member of United Church of Christ, Greenawalds.

He belonged to Greenleaf Lodge, F&AM, No. 561. He was a life member of Hogan’s Social Club, St. Francis Society and Cross Keys Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Raymond IV of Whitehall, Scott L. Sr. and his wife Joanne K. of Allentown, Mark M. Sr. and his wife Michelle A. of Fogelsville and David B. and his wife Karen R. of Allentown; five grandchildren, Scott Jr., Michael J., Ashley L., Noah D. and Hannah R.; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, James D. and his wife Louise of Allentown; and a sister, Kathleen N. Young and her husband Francis of Virginia.

He was predeceased by a grandson, Mark Jr.; and a daughter-in-law, Sandy.

Services are private.
