Joanne Rose Bobek
Joanne Rose Bobek, 77, died Dec. 8, 2020, at Heather Glen Senior Living, Allentown.
She was a daughter of the late Michael M. Bobek and Rita Ott Bobek.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from Moravian College. She earned master’s degrees in education from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, and in pastoral ministry/spirituality from Boston College, Boston, Mass.
She was a certified medical technologist. She was a program director in medical technology, St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem, for 17 years. She was a computer instructor at Northampton Community College, Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School, Franklin Academy and Reading Area Community College. She was an educational statistics associate at Center for Data Quality and Information Technology for the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Harrisburg, for more than 10 years. She retired in January of 2010.
She was a lay volunteer as director of adult education at Most Pure Heart of Mary Parish, Topeka, Kan., and a certified midlife directions consultant and founder of Heartspring, resources of personal and spiritual growth. She was an administrative coordinator for seven years in the Department of Youth Ministry, Diocese of Allentown.
She was the author of “A Day at Pond Snow,” “Mid-Life Spiritual Reflections, A Journal” and “Math for Med Techs.”
She is survived by four siblings, Rita C. Guth, Christine Roth and her husband Thomas, Michael M. Bobek Jr. and his wife Anne and Dr. Francis B. Bobek and his wife Connie; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.
