UPPER MACUNGIE Area churches offering family programs

St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, is having a pajama party movie night 6:30 p.m. Dec. 21.

The movie “The Star” will be shown on four large televisions safely spread out at the church.

The church will also have a family story time service at 4 p.m. and a candlelight worship service at 7 p.m., both on Dec. 24.

The family story time service will include a visit from a special guest.

Both services will be in person and on Facebook.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1028 Church Road, Fogelsville, will be offering three Facebook live Christmas Eve services Dec. 24.

The family service at 4 p.m. will include a children’s message.

The “Jazz Noels: Reflections of the Nativity” service at 7 p.m. will include special music in celebration of the season.

Then, at 10:30 p.m., the church will have a candle light service.

There will be no in-house worship services.

Ziegels Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will have Christmas worship services at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. Dec. 23; and 4 p.m. and at 7 p.m. Dec. 24.

Reservations are required to attend.

Make reservations with the name of your family and the number of people who will be attending.

All COVID-19 guidelines including wearing masks and social distancing will be followed during the services.

Parkland Community Library, South Whitehall, will host yoga instructor Larissa Noto of Lovely Little Lotus, for a Virtual Kids Yoga session for children ages 4-10 from 4-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 on Zoom.

A virtual Teen Dungeon and Dragons Night Zoom meeting will be held 6-8 p.m. Dec. 21 through the website R20 for students in seventh through 12th grade.

A Virtual Story Time with Miss Mary will be presented 10-10:30 a.m. Dec. 23 and 30 on Zoom.

Miss Mary will read a story and there will be singing.

This story time is perfect for all ages but is geared toward kids ages 5 and younger.

The library staff, along with Talewise, a ScienceTellers company will take kids ages 5-12 through a fantastical story at “Dragons: Return of the Ice Sorceress” 4 p.m. Dec. 29 on Zoom.

Kids will virtually discover the unbelievable world of science through experiments and demonstrations.

Join library staff for a special themed story time and help them countdown to the “noon year” at the “Noon New Year’s Eve” story time celebration 11:30 a.m. Dec. 31 on Zoom.

All attendees registered by Dec. 29 will also receive special instructions to pickup a “party pack” for the library’s story time celebration.

This event is for families.

Registration is needed to attend all programs except Virtual Story Time with Miss Mary.
