Catasauqua: Holy Trinity plans free soup initiative

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., is holding a Soup on Wednesdays initiative, to take place Dec. 2-Feb. 24, 2021.

Each Wednesday, takeout soups will be handed out at no charge to anyone who comes 4-5:30 p.m., or until supplies last.

Each week will feature a different hearty soup.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare and then serve the soup each week. Three people are needed to prepare the soup, and two are needed to serve. Volunteers should arrive at the church by 3:30 p.m.

Cash donations are also accepted to help purchase soup supplies. There will be a basket in the back of the church for donations or parishioners can put a check/envelope marked “Soup on Wednesdays” in the Sunday offering plate.

Organizers are also encouraging people to share their favorite soup recipes that can easily be made in larger quantities.

Call Robin at 610-264-2641 to help with this project.
