Ann L. Fortney

Ann L. (Nagel) Fortney, 79, of Schnecksville, died Nov. 13, 2020, in Fellowship Villa, Whitehall.

She and her husband, James Fortney, were married 55 years in October.

Born Aug. 25, 1941, in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Kermit R. and Hilda R. (Paul) Nagel.

A secretary for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21, Schnecksville, for 25 years, she retired in 2002.

She was a volunteer for the Upper Lehigh Historical Society, and a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

She loved spending time with her friends and family, and especially adored her grandson and spoke of him often.

She took great pride in her home and flower garden.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son James Scott Fortney and his wife, Kimberly, of Silver Spring, Md.; and grandson, Andrew Paul Fortney, attending university in Dundee, Scotland.

A private service will be held in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Schnecksville, with the Rev. Dr. Patience D. Stevenson officiating.

There will be no public calling hours. Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
