Trinity Lutheran Church members remodel Rescue Mission bathroom

Four men - Bill Hoyer, Jeff Collier, Allen McSparron and David Owen - from the Outreach Team at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown, recently remodeled the bathroom at the Allentown Rescue Mission.

Some 120 hours of sweat, hard work, a few hundred dollars of supplies provided by Trinity, along with mild frustration about how “nothing is square” went into taking a bathroom at the shelter from the latest of the 1970s to a fresh new look.

“We’re extremely grateful for the work Trinity Lutheran’s team accomplished,” Mission Facilities Manager Michael Mauro said.

“When we have a project available, groups that take the ball and run with it are a huge asset to the organization.

“Everything was provided by Trinity with limited to no involvement from staff, allowing us to focus on the men we serve and helping them back to self-sufficiency.”
