Harassment

Richard Scott Gehringer, 24, of Macungie, allegedly physically harassed another person in the 100 block of South Church Street Oct. 4, according to Macungie police.

National drug take back day

Macungie Police participated in the annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day event Oct. 24.

Officers received more than 50 pounds of expired prescription medications.

The Macungie Police Department has a permanent secure container for drug disposal in the vestibule of Macungie Borough Hall, 21 Locust St.

Drug possession

Three males, of Allentown and a teenager, of Bethlehem, allegedly fled from police after nearly striking a pedestrian and crashing their vehicle into a building Oct. 13, according to Macungie Police.

According to a media release from Macungie police, the incident unfolded as follows:

Officers conducted a vehicle stop in the unit block of Locust Street on a vehicle driving erratically and nearly striking a pedestrian on Main Street in Macungie borough.

After initiating the stop, officers began to approach the vehicle. The vehicle fled from the scene running stop signs and nearly striking a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The vehicle traveled approximately one and one-half blocks before crashing into a building on the Allen Organ campus.

Four occupants of the vehicle fled from the crash scene. Two people immediately were apprehended and another one was apprehended shortly thereafter in a search of the area. One occupant remained at large.

After a more thorough search of the area the last person was located hiding in the bottom of a dumpster. The suspect was taken into custody, effectively bringing an end to the incident.

Assisting agencies included Alburtis and Emmaus police and Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Those charged include Julian Enrique Davila, 20, who allegedly drove the vehicle and is charged with allegedly driving under the influence, fleeing or attempting to elude police and narcotics possession; Alejandro Luis Rivera De Jesus, 20, charged with alleged disorderly conduct and possession of narcotics and Joshua Brandon Harris, 22, charged with alleged disorderly conduct and possession of narcotics, according to Macungie police.

A 17-year-old female, of Bethlehem, was charged with alleged disorderly conduct and possession of narcotics in the incident.

Public drunkenness

A 39-year-old male, of Macungie, was cited for alleged public drunkenness after officers responded for a male lying in the street in the 100 block of South Church Street 1:30 a.m. Oct. 16, according Macungie police. The male allegedly was heavily intoxicated, unconscious and partially in the roadway.
