S. Whitehall police to host drive for food pantry

The South Whitehall Township Police Department is hosting a food drive benefiting the Parkland C.A.R.E.S. Food Pantry as part of the Travis Manion Foundation’s Operation Legacy.

Operation Legacy brings veterans, families of fallen heroes and T.M.F. supporters together through local service projects.

During Operation Legacy, TMF unites communities through a common cause, with volunteers living the “If Not Me, Then Who ...” ethos and leading a movement of character, leadership, and selfless service.

This project was spearheaded by Parkland High School junior Reagan Kinney.

There are 13 veterans employed by the South Whitehall Township Police Department.

These officers will be representing their branch of service for the food drive.

The food pantry has requested the following items:

·Pasta sauce in plastic jars (if possible), macaroni and cheese, green beans, canned corn, canned chicken, canned tuna, “meal in a can” (SpaghettiOs, ravioli), peanut butter, jelly (standard size in plastic), apple sauce (cups or pouches), granola bars (small boxes)

Food will be provided by Biaggio Pizzeria and Family Restaurant.

·Wednesday, Nov. 11 Veterans Day. The final drop off and ceremony at a location and time to be determined.
