We need to have more of a focus on getting the people of the district more involved in understanding how the state government works and its effect on them. There is so much media focus on national government when what is going on right here is many times more important.

I’d like to see legislation passed that provide a sunset provision for every law passed where it has to be adjusted and re-enacted in 10 years or it is nullified, except for bridge names and such, of course. If hindsight doesn’t show its utility, or if it needs amendments to make it more effective, then the sunset year is the time. This should be an easy bill to pass.
