Robert L. Young, 92, of Lower Macungie Township, died Oct. 17, 2020. He was the husband of the late Rosa (Feser) Young. They were married for 60 years. Born in Freemansburg, he was the son of the late Clyde and Letha (Creveling) Young.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army 264th Medical Corps (Bamberg, Germany) from 1946 to 1948. He was a member of the VFW.
He worked as a machinist in the Bethlehem Steel #12 Roll Shop until his retirement in 1993.
He was also a very talented self-taught carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking.
In his free time, he enjoyed golf and was a lifelong Philadelphia Phillies fan.
He was a member of the former Trinity UCC of Freemansburg.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth C. and his wife, Kathy, of Macungie; a sister, Margo and her husband, John Billetz, of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Lauren, David and his wife, Michele, John and his wife, Mary, Lauren and her husband, Adrian Rivera Sr. and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Ben, Alex, Brady, Matthew, Theodore, AJ and Callie Rose. He was predeceased by a son, Robert J. and six siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made payable to Cedarbrook Allentown Auxiliary and mailed to Cedarbrook Nursing Home, 350 S. Cedarbrook Road, Allentown, 18104.
Funeral services will be private and have been entrusted to the Connell Funeral Home, Bethlehem.
