Pauline “Polly” J. Meckes, 87, of Whitehall, died in hospice care at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.

Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Paul C. and Edith E. (Harwi) Kramer.

She was a certified nursing assistant at Cedarbrook and was a seamstress at the Cedarbrook Fountain Hill annex. She was a designer and caregiver of costumes for Dorney Park.

She was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall, where she was a member of the senior and bell choirs and Bible school.

She assisted at many church craft and quilt fairs. She was a volunteer at Lehigh County Humane Society.

She is survived by a daughter, Karla J. Billig and her husband Robert, SALM; a son, Andrew J. and his wife Linda; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Diehl and her husband Harry; and a brother, Luther “Bud” Kramer and his wife Viola “Vicki.”

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
