LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

ELECTION-PA HOUSE 133RD

We asked the candidate: What would be your first priority is elected/re-elected?

Democrat

Jeanne McNeill: “Ensure the resources for a safe pandemic recovery. Ensure everyone returning to the workplace has the resources needed to protect themselves. Ensure people have unemployment compensation to survive until they can return to the workforce. Secure additional small business recovery programs. Investment to educate our children safely. Legislation requiring lenders, landlords and tenants work out reasonable payment plans, keeping people in their homes and landlords from losing their property. Empty and foreclosed properties do not serve the best interest of our economic recovery. Ensure everyone has access to COVID-19 testing, and those who lost health care have access to state coverage.”

Republican

David Molony: “We need to have more of a focus on getting the people of the district more involved in understanding how the state government works and its effect on them. There is so much media focus on national government when what is going on right here is many times more important.

I’d like to see legislation passed that provide a sunset provision for every law passed where it has to be adjusted and re-enacted in 10 years or it is nullified, except for bridge names and such, of course. If hindsight doesn’t show its utility, or if it needs amendments to make it more effective, then the sunset year is the time. This should be an easy bill to pass.”
