To support the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, the Joint Environmental Advisory Council of the Borough of Emmaus and Upper Milford Township will hold a community cleanup event 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 21.
The event will be held rain or shine.
Community members are invited to participate in the following activities:
• Litter and Debris Clean Up: Groups will form to clean and pick up trash in areas of their choice of the borough and township. If anyone needs gloves, safety vests and bags, contact email@example.com to arrange a contact free pickup or delivery of those supplies.
• Electronics Recycling: Items like televisions, computers, printers, air conditioners, light bulbs and batteries will be accepted at Emmaus Community Park starting 9 a.m. until the truck is full. Some fees apply and the price list can be found at www.uppermilford.net.
• Document Shredding: Document shredding will be available to residents 9 a.m. to noon at Emmaus Community Park at no charge. Any type of office paper will be accepted and there is no need to remove staples. Items not accepted are newspapers, cardboard and books. Shredding will take place on site. There is a limit of four boxes per household (office file-size boxes only). The document shredding is sponsored by Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Browne, R-16th, Pennsylvania Rep.
