EXTENSION New watershed program Oct. 22

Nurture Nature Center and Penn State Extension Master Watershed Stewards are launching a new certification program - Watershed-Friendly Properties.

This program allows property owners to fill out an online application and qualify for a free sign that certifies their property as watershed-friendly.

Reducing stormwater runoff, reducing water pollution, conserving water and supporting wildlife and pollinators are all critical elements of watershed-friendly properties.

This webinar scheduled for 7-8 p.m. Oct. 22 will introduce the program and provide resources and information on how to make properties more watershed friendly.

The first 250 approved applications will receive the free metal yard sign to display the Watershed-Friendly Certification.

A small fee for the sign will be required after the initial 250 signs are distributed.

Financial and other support for the “Watershed-Friendly Properties - an education and certification program” has been provided by the Department of Environmental Protection’s 2020 Environmental Education Grants Program.

Registration is free and required. To register go to register.gotowebinar.com/register/8224360578691435019.
