House of community

Zach Romero and Lee Nunez, operators of Romero’s House of Style, run an eclectic, unique establishment at 417 Front St., Catasauqua.

The building once housed Mansion House Restaurant and later Gallery 415 and Unicorn Theatre.

The business opened in May 2019 and has a warm, friendly, upbeat atmosphere.

Romero’s has free food and drinks for patrons and visitors 3-6 p.m. every Friday. The food is provided by A Taste of Country and made by North Catasauqua Councilwoman Michele Hazzard. Romero’s wants to create a community environment and hopefully develop a larger clientele to express their talents.

Additionally, Romero’s is planning a trick-or-treat event 3-6 p.m. Oct. 30 for kids and families. Kids must be dressed in costume. They will receive a bag of candy and have some fun celebrating Halloween.

Also offered every Friday are messages by Vladimir Misic. His spouse, Paula Bernhardt, also a licensed massage therapist, operates an integrative bodywork practice. The duo provides services in a holistic manner.

On Sundays during football season, Romero’s holds a “hang over Sunday” gathering to watch football. They offer complimentary beer, wings, pizza and friendship.

Romero’s offers a service called Beards and Babes, run by Brittney Conrad. Conrad offers professional on-location makeup and wedding preparation services. The services are done first at Romero’s. If the customer likes Conrad’s work, she will replicate the makeup services at the person’s home on the wedding day.

Romero’s offers a variety of classic cuts, such as the original classic shave, the original new cleanup and a variety of reasonably priced haircuts and shaves.

Baxter of California superior hair, skin and shave essential products are offered for sale. Baxter’s motto is “Grooming to live life true since 1965.” Romero’s, in its own way, mirrors the motto through unique cuts, shinglings, trimming and attention to detail.

Many see a visit to Romero’s unlike any other salon or barber shop they have entered and find it a unique, eclectic place.
