Accidents

A 25-year-old driver, of Fogelsville, was hurt when the vehicle she was driving was struck by a Peterbilt truck in a construction zone along Interstate 78 westbound in Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

In a media release the accident was described as follows: The female was operating a 2019 HINO crash truck as a work zone vehicle and controlling traffic in the westbound lane of traffic 1:46 a.m. Sept. 24. The Peterbilt truck, driven by a 67-year-old male, of New York, was westbound on Interstate 78 and struck the work zone vehicle in the rear. The Peterbilt truck next struck a guide rail and went into a ditch. The work zone vehicle rolled onto its driver’s side, striking the center concrete median and landed facing west in the far left lane of Interstate 78 westbound.

The Fogelsville driver was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. Cetronia Ambulance Corps also responded to the accident, according to police.

A driver was badly hurt when her vehicle struck a utility pole and tree in the 4000 block of Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:40 p.m. Sept. 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicle was eastbound when it went off the left side of the road. The driver, 33, of Emmaus, was found unconscious in the vehicle and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township, for treatment. Macungie Ambulance Corps also responded.

An Alburtis driver, 36, was hurt when his sport utility vehicle crashed on Spring Creek Road at Congdon Hill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 2:17 a.m. Sept. 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

The vehicle was traveling west on Spring Creek Road and struck a directional road sign, a concrete traffic island and a metal pole on the south shoulder of the road. The driver sustained multiple injuries and was transported by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Macungie EMS and Getz Towing also responded to the accident scene.

An Allentown driver and her passenger were hurt when their vehicle hit a PP&L Electric Utility pole and a tree along Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The vehicle was northbound on Willow Lane around 12:56 a.m. Sept. 3 when it went off the road as the driver tried to negotiate a left curve. After striking the pole, the vehicle spun into a tree in the front yard of a residence in the 2100 block of Willow Lane.

The driver and passenger were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital by Macungie Ambulance Corps and Emmaus Ambulance Corps.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

A driver and her passenger were hurt when her sports utility vehicle struck a truck at the intersection of Church View Road and Chestnut Church Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, 1:12 p.m. Sept. 9.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the driver, of Jefferson Township, had stopped at the stop sign while westbound on Church View Road. She started into the intersection to cross to Shady Lane and did not see a Kenworth T370 truck southbound on Chestnut Hill Road. The vehicles collided in the middle of the intersection. The SUV then spun and struck the truck again.

The driver and her passenger were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Boulevard, for treatment of their injuries. The truck driver, of Coopersburg, refused medical transport for his injuries.

Lower Milford Fire Department and fire police personnel, Macungie, Upper Saucon and Emmaus ambulance crews and Lehigh County hazardous materials specialists also responded to the scene, according to state police.

Two people were hurt in a three-vehicle crash along Chestnut Street in Upper Milford Township and the accident temporarily shut down the road Sept. 7, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Elgin Drive around 3:38 p.m..

Two people, a driver and her passenger, were transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for treatment of their injuries.

The road was closed while emergency crews attempted to separate the vehicles, according to state police.

Scattering rubbish

A resident of South Fifth Street, Upper Milford Township, found rubbish scattered across the driveway at his residence 8 a.m. Sept. 9. Some of the rubbish contained identifying information of the owner of the rubbish, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Theft

A white patio chair, valued at $60, was removed from a residence in the 1000 block of Woodmont Lane, Lower Macungie Township, overnight July 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Harassment

A 26-year-old female, of Tampa, Fla., allegedly pushed another person during an argument at a residence in the 4800 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 6 p.m. Aug. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 38-year-old male, of Allentown, allegedly was involved in a dispute at a location along Pheasant Court, Lower Macungie Township, 9:01 p.m. Aug. 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
