Remembering 9/11

PRESS PHOTO BY JIM MARSH Catasauqua Police Chief Douglas Kish presents an a cappella rendition of the national anthem during a 9/11 tribute in the parking area of Mission BBQ, 1421 Grape St., Whitehall, while Gold Star Mother Nancy Smith, of Salisbury Township, looks on. Law enforcement, military units and first responders from throughout the Lehigh Valley attended the memorial tribute to honor those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The tribute also included a bagpiper playing “Amazing Grace,” a bugler sounding taps and verbal tributes to first responders. Mission BBQ, a longtime supporter of law enforcement, the military and fire and medical personnel, provided lunch for those first responders in attendance.
