Janice E. Howerter, 81, formerly of Emmaus, died Sept. 14, 2020, at the Phoebe Home in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Carl L. Howerter who died in 2008. Born in Emmaus, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. and Dorothy (Hillegass) Meck.

She was a member of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, Emmaus.

She is survived by a son, Tim and his wife, Hollie; a daughter, Mary Jane and her husband, Dave Stroup; grandchildren, Brandi, Ashley and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Renee, Ri-Lynn, Ellie, Harlow, Kora and Kayleigh.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Sept. 18 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 18 in the funeral home. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
