WESTERN SALISBURY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL Fourth grade students mark a milestone

PRESS PHOTOS BY REBECCA FOEHRKOLB Due to the grade reconfiguration in Salisbury Township School District schools and the COVID-19 pandemic closing schools in March, the parents of fourth graders at Western Salisbury Elementary School realized their students would miss out on a graduation to middle school. Parents Melissa Leo and Karin Kao approached fourth grade teachers Kristy Wied and Jenny Hur to see if something could be done. A small ceremony was held Aug. 3 on the steps of Western Salisbury Elementary School, now closed, to promote the students to fifth grade and Salisbury Middle School.
