BETHLEHEM COUNCIL - COVID cases daily: 2

Mayor Bob Donchez at the July 21 city council meeting reported 82 COVID-19 related deaths in Bethlehem since the beginning of the pandemic. He said there have been 1,126 positive cases.

“We’ve been averaging two to three cases per day,” said Donchez.

In other business, council approved the authorization and issue of a general obligation bond not to exceed $8.5 million for the purpose of re-funding a prior note.

Additionally, council approved the Community Action Development Corporation of Bethlehem’s planned Market on the Greenway Farmer’s Market which will be open 2 to 5 p.m. every Friday from July 24 to Sept. 25. The Farmer’s Market will be on the Greenway from Webster Street to Pierce Street.

Council approved funding to continue a contract for a municipal newsletter produced by Hometown Press of Perkasie.

Mayoral appointee Delia Marrero received council’s approval for appointment to the Human Relations Commission.
